We have been camed out in Simon's Father's (Eric's) Spare room for the past week taking advantage of his hospitality and expertise to re-fit our van for her upcoming journey. As we start to take things apart new problems are discovered and the list of jobs that need doing seems to grow almost as quickly as we are ticking off things that have been completed. We have most of the problems sorted now and are now working our way through the 'should be done' list and are adding a few touches here and there to make life in the van as comfortable as it can be within our means and timeframe. The hope is that we should have this all sorted out by this time next week and will be ready for another test-camp here on the beautiful sunshine coast before returning to Coquitlam to make the final preparations for the trip.
Some minor bickering and haggling over van features aside it has been beautiful here, and with the exception of a litle light rain this afternoon has been unusually warm and sunny for this time of year
I'm sure when she gets around to it Linz will add her impressions of the week just passed and all of her new vehicle enhancing skills she has been picking up as we go along.
Until then.

Horseshoe Bay - ferry terminal
. this has enabled us to make progress. on the van slightly faster than would otherwise have been possible. Eric's property has changed a lot since the last time Simon was here, but it still has a beutiful charm that can only be found in the cabin-in-the-woods-overlooking-the-forest-and-ocean setting. The sculptural touches around the property are also very cute and quirky. it was hard to resist adding a few of these to the van, and are now soon to be equipped with a custom holder for our MP3 players which has taken the shape of a pair of hands extending from the space where a regular stero is intended to fit. [we'll have to add a photo soon so you can see it in action!]I'm sure when she gets around to it Linz will add her impressions of the week just passed and all of her new vehicle enhancing skills she has been picking up as we go along.
Until then.

Pimp my ride
I hope there is going to be a swathe of flat-screen TVs and DVD players and a pop-up satellite dish and a diamond encrusted juicer?
Final touches
I hope you got lots of hippie beads. You know you have to bring it by I gladly and literally break oben a bottle of wine to christen your land ship, though I'd hold no responability for flat tires from glass shards).
