Missoula is only a couple hours drive from Helena, but of course we did not go directly there.  On the way, we made a stop at the Grant-Kohrs Ranch Historical Site.  This ranch was the headquarters of one of the largest open range cattle operations ever.  They had tens of thousands of head of cattle grazing in several states and two Canadian provinces.  The ranch is still a working cattle ranch, but much smaller than in it's prime. The original home and bunkhouses are not used today, but are part of the historical site museums.  The Kohrs ranch house is really something. The 8000 square foot home is just as it was when the Kohrs family gave it to the park service.  The antiques and decor were exquisit.  Unfortunately, we couldn't take pictures inside the house.

We arrived in Missoula early afternoon.  We relaxed before heading to Jane's cousin David's home for dinner.  We had a wonderful evening visiting and catching up with David and Maureen and their 5 year old Krista.  Unfortunately, we didn't take our camera with us, so we have no pictures of them.
