We arrived at the RV park in Dickinson mid morning.  It was rainy and cold.  The campsite was muddy and yucky.  But we parked, had an early lunch and headed out to Theodore Roosevelt National Park (South unit). The park consists of two areas (North and South units) that are about 60 miles apart. Today's agenda was just the south unit.  We joined a guided tour of TR's cabin where he lived on his first North Dakota ranch. With all his money, the cabin had only three small rooms, a kitchen, a living area, and a bedroom.

A drive through the park was quite nice in spite of the weather.  We dressed in warm gear and were in the car most of the time, but did get in one short nature walk between the raindrops.  We saw very little wildlife--two deer, a couple of horses and some prairie dogs -- they must have been keeping warm somewhere.
