Us again
Well we decided to leave Holland and head for Wurzburg in Germany this is the start of the romantic road ( note janet there is not any it must be a con or the special chuppa chup headache!)
We loaded the bike and headed south in great weather warm and sunny in fact since leaving the UK it has been great.
Well Wurzburg is 586km from Amsterdam so it was hold tight and here we go, I must admit that driving on the other side of the road takes some getting used to but so far we are managing, it was freeway all the way out of Holland at 100kmh limit then the road signs just changed language and we crossed into Germany then it was eyes in the mirror all the time looking for low flying BMW and Porche the fastest we saw was a BMW M5 it went past so fast that the bike shook, no speed limits on some autobahans.
We had to refuel twice at 1.52 euro a litre, the bike is going well and just loves cruising along at 110 to 120 luggage and all.
We arrived at Wurzburg late last night just as it was going dark so it was a hotel, no problem finding one but only one small crap room left so with some help from the staff found a great hotel around the corner and teh first place gave us a parking spot, as we were unpacking we got talking to a couple from Sydney who are also touring on a bike same idea as us different direction but almost the same route, they were all smiles after 3 weeks.
Woke up this morning to the sound of a big church bell at 7am I know were we wanted to shove his clanger!
the town streets were being closed off and stalls being set up everywhere for the annual street festival lots of food, beer stalls and people dancing everwhere great atmosphere even some ompah bands so we took notes for our band ( Look out pud pud no wiz the woz just trumpets!)
Linda plucked up the courage to visit a hairdresser we me in tow as an interpreter, no they did not pick up on my german for a number1 all over!
Thats all for now we are going to follow the Romantic road south before we turn for Austria via Heinz & Irene's
and in the words of Basil Fawlty don't mention the war!
Great place great food lovely people!.
