BIG DAY! The start of our road trip is finally here and WE ARE READY!!!
I should note: While on the road, Jean and I will be taking turns completing the daily blog entries. We will alternate every other day. That means that on the day I am blogging (today) I will be responsible for taking the photos and gathering the historic information I need and then completing the blog entry. On the days we are not responsible for the blog, we will help each other out by taking photos and completing some of the research.
We left New Prague shortly after 7:00 am after stopping at the local Ford dealership for some photos.
We drove to a rural farm in Zumbrota to view a collection of Model A parts. The collection was long past its prime as the parts were mostly spoiled by severe rust. 20 years ago this collection would have been prime. What a shame. We traveled through Rochester and into Iowa on #52. Continuing on #52 through Iowa, we stopped in Decorah for lunch at the Magpie Coffee House. Jean described Decorah as "quaint" with a historical feeling to it.
We made it to Cedar Rapids and plan to stay the night. 56645 miles on the odometer when we started - 280 miles today.
Trouble: I see a bit of oil under my car...I will need to watch it closely over the next couple days.
