From there I went to the hostel which had a real mellow scene to it with a hammock hut to chill in. The town was very small. I spent a day there before heading to the edge of the jungle, the pampas, for a 3 day boat tour up the river. We took a long bumpy 4x4 drive to the river which was the Beni river that flows into the Amazon. From there we got in these long thin canoes which took us to our hut we stayed in. Along the way we saw a lot of wildlife including monkeys, pink dolphins and heaps of different birds
The next morning we were awoken at day light by what sounded like demons crossed with a cyclone but was actually the howler monkeys. Really creepy sound. In the morning we went anaconda hunting but didn't find any. Because it was the wet season they're hard to find. Then we went more wildlife watching and seen Capybaras ( giant rodent guinea pig things) and a giant ant eater that was swimming across the river and tried to climb in our boat. In the afternoon I went swimming with the pink dolphins. They were really playful swimming around me. It was amazing to see them close up. That night we went to a bar that someone had set up on the riverbank for beers with other tour groups.
On my last day I went piranha fishing in the morning using steak for bait, caught nothing though. Then went back to the 4x4's to head back to Rurrenabaque. I flew out that afternoon to La Paz. We all got to stand right next to the runway as our plane came in to pick us up, pretty crazy but a good view. When I got back to la Paz I caught an overnight bus to Uyuni.
