Today we took tour through the Fevellas, the slums of Rio, which is an eye opener to see how people live in these dirty conditions. It was the first time I'd ever seen a 3rd world slum, the houses were so small and built on top of each other with what looked like whatever materials they found in the street. The area is actually crime free though because they don't want the police coming out as most of them are not paying for their electricity and water and don't want to get caught.

After that we went to Lapa to see the Lapa arches and Lapa steps. There were so many people around that area though for carnival street parties. That night I went to a street party in Ipenema with Raizza and her friends. It was massive, thousands of people everywhere wearing funny costumes, all drinking and partying in the street with dance music playing everywhere. Like a music festival without lining up for drinks, people wheel carts through the crowds selling beer spirits and shots that are cheap.

The next day I went up to tijuca forest to Corcovado mountain where I went hang gliding over the city, the forest and the beaches. It was awesome, it was such a rush just running off a cliff and hoping for the best that it flies. Then it was cruisy relaxing ride down to the beach. I even got a go a flying it.

That night we headed off to the Sambodrome to watch the famous carnivale parade. It was great, The amount of work the samba schools put into these floats and costumes was amazing. So many colours and good looking girls. They played the carnival anthems throughout the whole parade and crowd was dancing and singing these songs, except me.  I couldn't speak Portugese but it was still fun.
