Leaving Laurel and going into Woodsboro, I took a side trip for an appointment that brought me back over the Hwy 50 Bridge again.   I'm silly, but I just really liked that bridge.   I think there is something in the air as I traveled that part of the country.  Being so close to the ocean and still seeing the rolling farmlands and hills.   The only way I can describe it is to say that it vibrates at a different frequency.  There is something about the energy that is so incredibly soothing to the spirit.  Maybe that is where the expression "the hills sing" comes from.  As I drove into Woodsboro, I discovered a small quaint town with a Main Street full of Victorian homes and the best one of them was the home of Lauren.   WOW.   I had a client call immediately upon arrival and enjoyed taking the call on the porch swing in the shade and breeze before unpacking and seeing the house.  I have a Victorian bedroom in my home and was completely at home and in awe of the Victorian decor.   Lauren told us that she is included in the Christmas tour of homes.   You know this made me want to come back at Christmas.  You have to see Lauren's bedroom.  She has this real princess thing working where her bed fits right into the the round tower of windows.   Very nice, but you have to be a morning person to be hit with that much morning light.   The whole place was gorgeous.

When Cindy and Lisa arrived, they told me they had just discovered this great covered bridge near by.  Of course, Lauren knew exactly where it was.  Lauren drove me over to show it to me and I went back the next day with my oil paints.   What a peaceful morning, just me and the bridge and the easel and paints.  While still timid, my painting is more like a light wash, I did capture the bridge and enjoyed the moment.

Lauren was the perfect planning hostess.   In addition to spending the day in DC, she set up 2 more fun outings for us.   One was an evening with other program families out to eat.   It was truly a night of laughter and sharing and I'll always remember Cindy's husband as the "Nick Nolte" look alike.   The other was a day in Frederick at The Healing Center's Open House.   Not only did they give free workshops on meditation and chanting and flower essences, but they gave door prizes and I walked out with 3 new CD's.  I was pretty impressed with the flower essence and when I heard the meanings of the essence that I drew, I actually bought them. Queen Anne's Lace is for trusting your intuition (something a coach truly needs) and Mullein for standing tall in your integrity (had written a newsletter about that in Feb).  Although there were a couple more classes offered, but early afternoon, I decided that I'd gotten what I came for and I left and found my way to the Frederick park for my walk.  {all along the trip, training for the 60 mile walk is a priority).   The park is set up along a river and so I walked the river over a mile and back up the other side of the park.  Then, I drove through the renovated downtown and walked some more there and stopped into The Muse where I bought a necklace charms that say "Laugh" and "be yourself".  I really enjoy wearing them.

I googled Vineyard Christian Fellowship so that I could go to "my church" for Sunday worship.  Lauren's roommate asked to join me and we drove an hour away to go to church.   It was worth the trip, I love the worship music and everyone was very friendly.   It felt like being home.  Coming back, it was crazy, we couldn't find any place open to eat on a Sunday.  Something about "blue law" and being closed.   I was shocked.   We finally ended up at a Pizza Hut...not my favorite, but we didn't starve.  ;-)
