I had a quality sleep! But at times it was abit hot as the heating was left on! We were so hungry and breakfast was booked in at 10am. So I jumped in the shower first and it was real nice... Perfect! both ready and washed we headed down to the ground floor where breakfast was being served... it was buffet style and all you can eat! I had 2 cooked breakfasts and had some fruit salad and 2 yogats... Gotta take full advantage of all you can eat!!! We were due to check out at 11am so around that time we checked out and headed into London with nowhere to stay and lugging about our backpacks...

I really wanted to go to Buckingham Palace! I mean I went once before but it was so manic I didn't really see alot, so I thought lets go again. We went straight to the Bakerloo line and got a fair few tube trains too Hyde Park Corner. Once above ground we were greeted by an army of tourists! Again people of all races and nationalities. I was like this must be the way to Buckingham Palace and I was right! We were greeted by an onslaught of even more people and police! Police were on horses and some were armed as it was the change of the guard! It was complete mayhem. Having finally made it to the other-side of the madness, right by St. James's Park we finally had a cool view of the palace! I then saw alot of duck/geese and swans so fancied some nature time! I was amazed at the variety and abundance of Wildfowl in London! I mean I saw the Australia Black Swan, Pochards, Egyptian Geese... Loads! We also were greeted by alot of friendly (more like hungry) Grey Squirrels!

We then headed back down to the Thames and walked along insearch of a hostel as I had texted 118 118 and they recommended three places in London! So we picked the Ashlee House... But on the way we found a Walkabout (my fave bar!!!) so we naturally went inside and I ordered a steak and Paula a bowl of chips! The bar started to get alittle packed as the Rugby was about to begin! Scotland vs. Wales... Was a pretty good atmosphere and on some of the TV's they were showing Portsmouth vs. Southampton! So I was watching both... I know I hate sports haha! But I was caught in the frenzy of hardcore fans! The football finished and it was half time on the rugby and we were getting abit comfortable drinking and watching Sports! So we began our walk to find the hostel! We walked through Leicester Square and came across the building that played 'The Phantom of the Opera', Paula was like ohhh I fancy seeing this and me I've already seen it but a very long time ago! Paula then decided to pay for 2 seats to watch tonight's showing, starting at 19:30! Very kind of her and I was very much looking forward to seeing a play! Especially The Phantom of the Opera!!!! We then continued our hostel trek! It was a long journey but it was also good to see the lesser famous places of London! We finally found the road and it was the longest road... Or it certainly seemed it.

Finally Hostel! Ashlee House! I asked for some room and the lady said yes I have 2 beds in the dorm. OK cool! So I booked us in for one night. The lady gave us a code for the main door and a code to unlock our dorm room. So we walked around the corner and found our door unlocked... Who needs a code!!! I was bed 2 and Paula bed 1... This was a 16 bed dorm and we were greeted by an Asian man and an emo guy! They were playing out some random tunes and next to me in bed 4 were a couple sleeping... So I was very quiet at sorting out my bed ready for just getting in and crashing out! We both had a kinda of OMG moment when we first saw our beds as they were all bunks gelled together! But it was only one night and a hostel! So I didn't expect a normal nights sleep. We left our bags on our beds and headed back out into London town! heading towards... Leicester Square!

We walked back down the endless road and hit the nearest tube station. Charing Cross! And headed into the darkness and then the lights of Leicester Square! Again madness! People everywhere! We walked past the Empire Cinema, then the Odeon and Vue... All within 5 minutes walk of one another! Hunger kicked in and with it being Valentines weekend every shop and restaurant had a theme of valentines! We found a small place Called Spaghetti Place. We ate there and it was a pleasant place, very decked out for couples! After we ate outside it began to pour down with rain! So up went then umbrellas... Lethal! You had to dodge an oncoming attack of umbrellas! I got hit in the face but it didn't hurt! I just followed Paula into some shops and then I decided we had to get going to The Phantom of the Opera! So we walked through the rain and went inside where we waited for about half an hour! We were finally let into the drinks area where I got a water and some Giant Buttons!!! At 19:30 we were all called into watch the show and it lasted until 22:30 and it was quality! I have loved the Phantom of the Opera music for years thanks to my mum and sister playing it non-stop when I was a kid! So i knew all the songs! But I totally love this play and would recommend it to anyone! The effects and singing are mind blowing! Very talented people and a well thought out show!

Once the show had finished it was a trek back through tons of people back to our hostel! We passed a fight (or the beginning of one) in Leicester Square. I wanted to watch but Paula wouldn't let me! haha! We eventually made it back to our dorm! We found the lights were already on and a Chinese couple were just checking in. I climbed upto my bed and crashed out and tried my best to get some sleep! Paula was below and was a coughing machine! But she was later out-done by the Darth Vader breathing man! Man he was loud! As the night went on more and more people checked in! Paula also broke into a chorus of snoring but I'm sure the guy in the bunk next to her gave her a nudge as she came to a sudden stop! More people checked in and I was desperate for the loo! I had to G.I.Joe it out of my bed as there was no ladder just holes to climb down.

I awoke at around 7:30am and slowly began getting myself out of bed without waking anyone! But half the dorm were already awake haha! Our dorm room was now totally full! All 14 beds had someone sleeping in them! There was only one shower and it was in use so I had a wash in the tiny sink and got changed in the toilet! Paula did the same thing but in the ladies and we checked out! We walked down the long road to a McDonald's and had a breakfast! Once finished we went back down to the tube station, which was over the road from McDonald's! We took the tube to Waterloo and Paula got onto her train right away. I said see ya to my buddy and I headed to my gate...

This weekender was planned to be way up north in Edinburgh but it turned out to be a weekender in London! It was just quality to do some exploring and get away for alittle while! I had a great time so thank you Miss Lawes for the idea of a random weekend away, as it most certainly was!
