Day 224 - We arrived yesterday after a short drive from Quartzsite.  The weather is not as warm as you would expect, being that we are so far South.  Well, it is winter.  It's not so much the temperature as the wind.  It goes right through your body!  Still, there is a beautiful large heated pool and hot tub, and we both braved the elements and did some laps and water aerobics and then took a turn in the hot tub.  Our coaches are parked pretty close, so we don't have to go far to get back into a warm coach.  After dinner together, we headed to the local Casino where I managed to win $20 after about an hour or more of back and forth wins and losses.  Such fun. Nick can't see the merit in it, so he stays behind.  Oh well...

Day 225 - The big 65 today.  We went out to breakfast with people we met on our Alaska trip who spend the winter down here, then Claudia and I went swimming again.  After the colder temperatures of yesterday, it didn't seem quite as heated, but we managed to get through it.  We ended up out to dinner to celebrate both my birthday and Claudia's tomorrow.

Day 226 - Yuma is quite an interesting place.  You come across the desert for about 70 miles or so from Quartzsite and pass the Military Proving Grounds (all branches are represented, as well as GM) and as I found out, it's not just for guns and ammo, tanks, etc., but for anything that the military will use in combat from including clothing and whatever else will be used.  There are hundreds of acres devoted to these proving grounds.  Then, we see blimps in the air.  Our friend told us that they are used by the military to take photos of the boarder and that there are 4 being used and they travel from the West Coast to Florida and back again - SMILE!!! The times that we saw them, it looked like they were just over the proving grounds and they also looked like they were un-manned.  Weird.  That's our Government for you!  Mysterious!

On the ride back to Lake Havasu, we pass some really cool looking mountains - One called Dome Mountain and I see 10 Red Tail Hawks perched on tall Electrical Poles  outside of Parker, Arizona.  Pretty neat to see that many.

Day 227 - Boulder City, NV  - Back to Nevada.  I'm getting tired of the time changes.  Arizona doesn't change their clocks, so we've been an hour behind, then an hour ahead, and then - oh who knows what time it is and who cares, since we are retired and does it really matter??

We will stay here in this park until we leave for New Jersey.

We want to wish you all a Merry Christmas.  I hope you have great times with family and friends.  Party Hardy!!

I won't be blogging until we return to Vegas after January 2nd.

Again, thanks to all of you who have told me how much you are enjoying reading about our travels. I really appreciate that.

So, are you making a run from there to New Jersey? We just got back from Pennsylvania, where it was cold and we were in snow. YUCK!!! It was 74 degrees here in sunny SC today! Now we are talking! Hated the PA weather but enjoyed seeing family.
