Day 66 - 7/4/13 - Happy 4th everyone.  Hope you had a safe one.

As we left Kalispell and made our way down south, we came across a home town parade in Kalispell - we could see all the people lining several blocks of the town watching float after float and of course, the fire engines rolling down the street.  Wish we had the time to watch.

We retraced our steps back to Missoula and the same campground that we were at earlier.  In the afternoon we went to town and walked around and ate at a festival in the park with a band and a great little dance group who performed on the lawn.  Again it was hot and these kids were all in black.

Along this park is a rapidly running river with some areas going over rock and making for some white water.  People were rafting from a spot up above in tubes and having a blast floating down this river. (Big Fork River).  There was even a surfer who was doing a fantastic job of "riding the curl"!  Also, 2 kayakers in smaller ones "running the rapids".  What great exercise and great fun at the same time!  There are bike and walking paths all around the city.  Quite a nice little city Missoula.

We also learned that there is a bike trail that goes along the old railroad beds (that have been refurbished) and it goes all the way from here to Spokane!  How cool is that?

See you in Coeur d'Alene, ID - tomorrow!
