June 22, 2013 - We left the Rally today after one more class on Fire Safety!  Yikes, you have 20 seconds to get out (by the way, I go FIRST)!!,  before it ended because we are making our way first to Sheridan, WY, then up into Montana and we want to have plenty of time up in Glacier National Park.  We heard the other day that Calgary had a massive storm and lots of flooding!  We are scheduled to be there around the 10th of July for the Calgary Stampede, and we are surely hoping that they get it all cleaned up  so that our plans won't be changed.

More heavy rain today, and I thought for this photo journal, I would show you several photos of actually being on the road with us!  As you drive around in this part of the country you see several signs with lights attached that say - "Road Closed when lights are flashing - turn around and go back to (whatever town you just left)."  It gives you a real sense of how awful the winters must be here in a snowstorm.  I'm sure with all the wind that we have experienced that it doesn't have a chance of falling straight. It must go parallel to the ground.

It amazes me how you see all these cows roaming around and not a ranch, barn or house to be seen.  Poor cows wander aimlessly until they get picked up for slaughter I guess.  Ick.

Love the names they give to the roads and creeks...Dead Horse Creek Road; Crazy Woman Creek; Crazy Woman Real Estate; Dry Creek Road; Shell Creek Road; Piney Creek Road; Prairie Dog Creek Road.

These pictures aren't all great since they were taken though the windshield with rain all over them, but I wanted to give you a sense of the area.  Thunder and Lightning storm just before we got to town.  Heard that at Gillette (where we just left) they had hail again!!!

Next stop, Big Sky Country of Montana - although I can't believe that they are any bigger than those here in we'll see...16 days 'till we start of Calgary/Alaska trip.  The time is flying by so fast.

I am so glad you have be just west of some terrible weather. Hopefully, things will dry out a bit by the time you get to Galgary. But you have already dodged some big time horrible weather.

You talk about strange names for roads? How about our "Leg O' Mutton" right here on our civilized island.

Love the new perspective from the passenger's seat!! Have you tried driving yet? Did you remember to start your day with, "I love you, I'm sorry"?!! LOL

I'm into "I'm sorry I love you! " Thanks for the laughs. We helped LeRoy and Jane celebrate their 50th anniversary yesterday with a boat cruise on the Mississippi River in Mpls! We all think your blog is the best medicine for those of us who have been around the block and back so to speak! Keep up the good work!!! Love you!
