Remember me telling you about the never-ending trains that roll through Abilene...well as we were going into the museum, a train was coming into town behind the museum and I started talking to one of the guards at the museum. I asked him about these trains and I was telling him how much more activity there is here in the this part of the Country than in the East...and I was saying that you must have to wait 15 minutes when they cross the road
So are we travelled out of Kansas and into Nebraska we saw many areas where the trains pull up to the grain elevators. The two biggest building in this part of the country are the Grain Storage Buildings and the Cattle Auction Buildings.
You will see photos of the changes in the scenery around the roadways. At some points you have a view for miles and other time you see see dry farmland and at others lush prairie grasses and, of course, barns!!!
Road kill was sparse - only a raccoon.
Today I think we are going to take a break from all this education we are getting and go and see Gatsby in 3D!
Enjoy your day!
