It has suddenly occurred to me...as my mother used to say "Light Dawns on Marblehead" and my noggin must have been emitting light waves (or was that because of where I had to sleep last night)? anyway..the reason we have taken this trip is NOT for the scenery; NOT for the bonding experience for us; NOT for the folks we will meet along the way; NOT even for the photography that I was HOPING to capture, and definitely NOT even for the fine road kill that I have been collecting---- NO! Folks it is for the CRACKER BARREL's of the USA...because, I am really, really afraid that we WILL stop in as many as humanly possible between here and the end of this journey (wherever that may be)
And, speaking of Road Kill - I am sort of off that for awhile. I have been picking fur out of my teeth for the last few nights. That Possum really needed to be skinned. I mentioned that to "Daniel Boone" but he said it would fall off as we marinated it. That's the last time I listen to him!
The Truman Library was huge and we spent two and a half hours in there and may go back tomorrow for the rest. It's due to Truman that any future Presidents are to make ALL documents and anything Presidential available to the public for viewing. Hence all the Presidential Libraries.
I was able to take pictures (no flash) inside the Library, so you will see some of what we saw. There were also a few barns along the way that I was able to capture.
Tomorrow is the Truman home and maybe more of the Library/Museum...then off to Abilene Kansas for Eisenhower's Library and then that is the end of the Presidential stuff for a very long time.
After Abilene we are headed up to Minnesota to see friends for a few days, but along the way, we are making no plans so we will just go where the road takes us.
