Thought we'd give you all a break and not publish the drive from one city to the next.  It rained heavily all day long and finally stopped an hour or so after we got to Nashville.  We hooked up (our car, that is) in Gatlinburg in a driving rain storm which was no fun at all...enough about the drudgery!

I know you want to know about my road kill cooking adventures!  Well, we are going to be eating well for many nights to come - deer AND opossum!  So excited, I didn't know which to fix first! So we had a salad!!

For all my Disney friends, we passed the "Disney Tire Company along the way...who knew?  Wish I could still get a discount!!

Gas in Pidgeon Forge was $3.09 - Here in Nashville it is $3.15 so not bad for us right now.

Took the Gray Line on a tour of the city with a stop at the Country Hall of Fame Museum.  You could spend three days in there and not see it all.  We toured all around Music City, the Ryman Auditorium- where the Grand Ole Opry started and then downtown and to Centennial Park which is amazing. They have an exact replica of the Parthenon on the grounds. Hard to get photos out of the window of the bus, but it would be worth seeing.  They even have circles in the sidewalk surrounding the park, 95 of them representing the counties and in each one is a time capsule to be opened in I think 2076 or some such year - I didn't think it would be worth my while to make my reservation just yet!  But it is a stunning park and they have an exact replica of the Greek Parthenon there as well and that is also quite impressive.  Also saw Vanderbilt University ($60,000/year)..very impressive campus

Some of the pictures you will see are places where the big names in country music record their songs.  Most are in old homes or very nondescript buildings and other's like Sony and some of the bigger guys have impressive buildings. And, Reba as you will see...

Taylor Swift gave $4 Million dollars for the additional space they are adding to the Museum which will double the size.  Pretty nice for such a young gal.

We learned that Minnie Pearl's real name is actually Sarah Cannon and she donated money to a Cancer Research Hospital named for her as Sarah Cannon not Minnie Pearl.
Have a great day...

Where did you find a roadkill salad? Was vitamin-packed gore strewn along the highway? Were there crushed tomatoes? Beat beets? Potato pancakes?

I HOPE you are joking about eating roadkill cross country. Or do I need to send you a gift card to Denny's.
Cathy is in NYC with gal pals. She got her face on GMA yesterday and in the street of The Today Show this morning.

What a great adventure, Sandy! Keep enjoying! And don't forget to save your recipes for roadkill. We may want to have a Big BBQ when you come back for a visit!

We'll cook you up some yard kill when you get to MN! Love your blog.

Nice that you got to spend some time there. We usually are in a hurry to get through and onward to Florida.

I have been to Nashville several times as a child, and my memories are of the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. As an adult on a confrence trip 2 years ago on St. Patricks Day, it took me all day to find a Pint of Guinniss on tap....I found it just before the midnight hour.

One good thing about Nashville is that even a Holiday Inn lounge five miles from downtown has a top notch band. Everybody has come to Nashville to make a name for themselves and then they get hungry. So entertainment galore.
