Nick and I arrived safely to our first real campsite of our trip -  last night we stayed in the Walmart parking lot off Island and actually had a great spot over beside the Dollar Store where we parked in the shade (got there at 5:30 p.m.) and had a nice view of a field...and FREE parking for the night...did I mention FREE, cause not much else will be!  One of our fellow RV friends said that it helps to shave an hour off your trip the next day and it worked since we had 286 miles to travel from there.  Arrived at 2:00 - it's cool and windy - but we have a lovely campsite with a view of a field of green and trees lining the back...they have lots of trails you can take and we'll try that later maybe after we get all hooked up. I asked if I had any bears to watch out for (really just joking) and he said no but we do have Coyote's but they won't come close...yea right!

I'd like to say it was uneventful getting here, but there was the usual tension between captain and co-pilot and then I got sick (took a pill without enough food)..not a great start.  But the rest went okay.  Maybe it was all the road kill that made my stomach queasy...

Tomorrow we will explore Greenville and the surrounding areas.

I heard about Walmart open to RV's. I see them often in the lot at ours here in NJ. I found the site and confirmed, just not at all Walmarts.

Save the roadkill to save on meal expenses if you pass through NC, where it's legal to keep.

Did Flat Sandy enjoy her first days of travel with Sandy and Nick?

Hi Guys,

I love the free parking also. You tell the captain to listen to you because you are the brains in this whole operation. Try not to kill him, that is my fear while travelling with Dave. Lucky for him he is still alive.
Keep us up to date and safe travels.
