June 18th  - Arrived here yesterday and they took us to our camping spot at what is called the CAM-PLEX.  It is a massive property with several buildings used for major conventions.  There are over 1000 RV's here for the 50th Anniversary Rally of the Family Motor Coach Association.   It was extremely windy here and you could see the dark clouds building - we knew we were in for something big!  It turned out to be a big thunderstorm with lots of cloud to ground lighting bolts and it was quite something to watch.  The winds had all the flags out straight with poles bending from the wind.  It brought about a great sunset after storming for over an hour.  (Mt. Rushmore was hit with golf ball sized hail the other night)!!  Glad we missed that!

June 19 - Today was bright and sunny and we started the informational seminars today.  I went to three - one was on Full Timing in your RV; the second was an overview of all kids of things to help make the motor home run smoothly, and the third was on how to make yourself look 10 years younger!  I was all over that one!  The gal who ran it has a make up company called CatCorporation, and she is married to Todd Reynolds (Debby Reynolds and Eddie Fisher's son). She was on the Young and the Restless for 12 years.  Her name is Catherine Hickland.  Quite a personable lady.  Then it was back to RV matters and we went to a seminar on space-saving ideas.  All in all pretty interesting.

The wind is still howling out there and has been all day.

After all that was over, we met with two couples who are attending this rally and will also be joining us in Alaska.  It was nice to get a head start on getting to know people now.  They are about our ages and that's nice.  I was afraid that most would be in their late 70's or more!!

You'll see some of the highlights of our drive here from Devils Tower and the weather related photos from last nights storm and sunset...

Wow! What great photo's. You are the color answer to Ansel Adams. You are creating a lot of wonderful memories and having a great time doing it. Love reading your daily blogs. Nothing new here. Trying to decide what to do..We will probably wait till fall to start seriously looking for a place to live. The kids haven't threaten to throw us in the streets yet.. XOXOXO Joey
