The boys enjoyed the trip on the old train through Niles Canyon and the wild west stories that are told by the conductor. The town of Niles is very quiet, and has of of the oldest silent movie theatres in the US.

... visiting St. Joseph, MI, as it would be symbolistic of my name, but it was too far into MI (about 40 miles) to be practical. So, we sort of cheat and drive through Niles, MI (only 10 miles back and forth from the border) and consider it a visit to MI.
