Kate and I traveled from Philadelphia to my parents' home in Martinsville, VA to complete final preparations for my hike. and to celebrate my 28th birthday (today!). most of the story is in the pictures.

 After spending all yesterday in transit, Mom picked me up in Greensboro, NC for the drive to their house in Martinsville, VA.  We stayed up a bit later while I unpacked one luggage and gave her some gifts from the trip I haven't quite figured ...
