Mesa Verde National Park website: http://www.nps.gov/meve/ Got away by 9am and drove up a long winding road to the top of the Mesa, past rocky buttes and fall coloured shrubs dotting the rolling landscape. We stopped at the visitor centre, got the kids ...

... and amazing, but no more amazing than the incredible sunset viewed from our site  here at Echo Basin Ranch, west of Durango, near Mancos, Colorado.  Our site is right next to the corral, so we even had a half dozen or so horses as neighbors last ...

... Dusty) but the breakfast was otherwise pretty tasty. Roslyn had just the standard 2-egg breakfast with some fabulous sour dough pancakes and Jason had the breakfast burrito. The cappuccino was fantastic. We then went on to visit the Mancos Cemetery.
