... .  Since we finally had Internet access, I caught up on the blog while Barb did a little laundry.  We hope to spend a couple of days here in Hill City so we needed some clean clothes. Today we only rode 404 miles but our trip total is now 12,052.

... missed the turn - wizzed past it and started down Mt Rushmore. We spotted a couple places to make a turn, but it was steep hill and could stop in time to make the turnout. After the 3rd try - we started smelling something. No it wasn't some steer manure ...

... out in the woods.  but those hills, I would have liked to known my gas mileage through there, but we keep forgetting to write down either mileage or gallons two stops in a row. We camped down in hill city, and off the mt. Rushmore in the morning...

... we were the only ones tuning in.  First stop was a trip over the Iowa border - Matt's trying to get through all 48 lower states - and then on to Mitchell where we sought out the Corn Palace. A bit of a gimmick, but we enjoyed the hot corn ...
