... .   We weren't able to satisfy their impatience that evening as the tides were against us. Instead we strolled around Lowestoft, not an uplifting experience and back on board, had a great chicken & chorizo stew that Julie had prepared earlier.

... bull and a lot of determination and we were off.  We started off by walking from Kirkley Cliffs (part of the Lowestoft seafront) northward to the town centre, this part of the route follows the golden sand towards the massive rig structures visible ...

... make for Southwold again. This plan however, was killed at birth when the harbour master told me that they were full. Our only other option then was to turn around and head back to Lowestoft, which is what we did, getting back to our old berth by 18:30.

A trip to the UK wouldn't be complete without seeing the family in Lowestoft! I spent New Years with splendid company - I even got to cook a couple of dinners!
