... I had a chat with the her and learned that she was desperate for more tourists to visit - despite being listed in the Lonely Planet she was finding times difficult. I liked Tha Ton but there was no question - we were moving along tomorrow.
... was SUPERB! We got the bus to Fang heading over towards the North East as you'll see on the map and then took a songthaew to Tha Ton where we were hoping to get to in time to take to passenger boat to Chiang Rai but as it happened we got there too late so ...
Day 13: Tha Ton (In thailand just north of Chiang Mai despite what the map pin shows!) Up at 8am (with hangover!) for the 3.5 hour local bus journey to Tha Ton. Again no air con. Arrived at the guesthouse which is on the riverside and had lunch looking ...
... where the river got a bit crazier. Overall, it was a very very very pleasant afternoon. I feel like this blog doesn't convey my enthusiasm for Tha Ton very well...must be because Chiang Rai pulled it all out of me...but seriously, Tha Ton=awesome. :)
