... down to Ko Samui for three nights, so we won't be hitting Ko Samet after all. Now I'm in the middle of trying to line up accommodation there. Can't decide whether staying on much-praised Chaweng is worth all the noise and the development.

yes, Chaweng beach is fun if you like many people on the other hand Lamai and Thong Nai Paan beach are calm and good to relax.
