Suriname is probably there for the rainforest and Lonely Planet threw it in because it sounds more obscure than Brazil.

Suriname caught me off-guard too - it's not very far away from Barbados but it's not exactly what I'd call a raving tourist destination! I've never been either but from what I understand it's very quiet and safe, lots of rainforests ...
