Cool 12century castle (convento de christo) overlooking the town and built by the Knights Templer. contains a chapel used for various knighting and burial ceremonies which was later expanded to a full blown monastry.

Hi Iam new around here, just wanted to say hi, I live in Central Portugal, near Tomar, anyone thinking about visiting this part of Portugal and wants information on the region just say, been here for 4 years now and love the area,

... medieval town of Obidos, and you have a historical complex that is hard to beat anywhere. And all can be visited in a day trip from Lisbon, but preferably not all in one day. Access my Portugal trip at P.S. I'm not Portuguese! Cheers Martin
