... they can be scared of getting bad ratings so do things well to get a good review. Most of the places I stayed at in Peru didn't have online booking (except Lima), but things may well have changed by now. I don't think we negotiated much though ...

... weeks for ecuador, paraguay or uruguay then two months for argentina and brazil. In a push you could proabably manage ecuador, peru (only seing around cuzco) bolivia and then northern argentina in 3 months, im not saying it wouldnt be possible to see all ...
