... to the Colombian side. Rough waters and you'll have to walk 4-5kms to the town on the Colombian side. Quite feasible but not without risk. Most people I met flew from Panama City to Cartegena or found a berth on a yacht via the San Blas islands.

... region has its ups and downs The other option is to take a boat, which works out more expensive than flying sometimes, and can take up to a week with stopovers, but you do get the opportunity to check out the San Blas islands of Panama if youre lucky
