same train, just continues on from Nong Khai now. Not sure if it actually makes things any quicker or not, as have not taken it yet, but would hope it would cut down on some of the hassle.

my girlfriend's cousin works at the vientiane checkpoint, so we breezed back through to thailand in minutes... and huge improvement on the hour or so going in at nong khai, and much better than then 30 minutes at huay xai.
