... me retension it and soon I was doing figures of eight in the street like a 5year old on their first bicycle. There wasn't a great deal to do in Hongsa, so when we got back, and had grappled with the communication situation we ate and went to bed.

I made a side trip to the first ever elephant festival near Hongsa, which is a 1h very dusty ride from Ta Sueng on the Mekong (about 2 hours from Pak Beng). The festival was pleasant, but most of the best events had already happened the previous day.
