Ardfert, Ireland

After looking at our own blog we realised that the start has not been marked. San Francisco was our first stop but our journey together began in Ardefert, Ireland. Therefore, we are correcting our entry now.

Ardfert Abby was one of those things where we were just out driving and found it. The parking place for it was quite a ways away from the abby, so my wife and mom didn't go. Here are some pictures we look.

A complex of churches in this area. The ruined cathedral is from the 12th century. Two churches are in the graveyard - one is the Teampall na Griffin from the carving of the Griffin. (Couldn't see it due to maintenance, but got a photo from the exhibition ...
