A day trip out from Mysore to visit a Tibetan refugee settlement in the hills around Kushalnagar: to be honest these refugees don't seem to be doing too badly and their 'refugee camp' is a relative oasis in what else is a dustbowl.
Kushalnagar is the site of many Tibetan settlements in the surrounding countryside. They have established monasteries and small villages, that are home to 5000+ monks. Interesting to visit Tibetan villages in southern India.
