A 5 hour train ride on an unreserved seat to New Alipur Duar station. And then changing onto a bus for another 2.5 hours to get to the Indian border town of Jaigon just across from Phuentsholing.

... all the way back and i didnt exactly feel great. From Silliguri we ate a quick thali and then got on the 2pm bus to Jaigon which takes 3.5 hours. We arived at 6pm in the terenchal rain and ate and got an early night - there was nothing else to do!! ...
