It was time for a break from the manic Shanghai city life. We set out to explore some outer villages. We especially enjoyed Xitang. Check out the roof tops. For those of you who saw the movie "Mission Impossible III", you'll recognize the setting.
Today we loaded up the big pink bus and headed southwest for about 90 minutes to get to the Xitang Water town. It was an absolutely beatuiful day - the first time we have seen (and felt) the sun since we arrived in China. I have included some pictures but ...

... of these? Which would you recommend? The Water town near Shanghai and Suzhou which keep it's original condition is Xitang. It's the homes of townsmen beside the river but the shores. Even stores, the storekeeper are local townmen. Beautiful ...
