... there is a chicken sitting quietly under my seat waiting for the journey to begin. We drive North out of Chengdu into the Sichuan mountains and the temperature starts to drop to my relief. For the first time in several months I feel cold in my T-shirt. ...
... & spent his time coughing his guts up as he was so unfit & had had to run after me. We left camp at about 8.30 & rode back to Songpan in about 6 hours. I know many people have had good experiences in Songpan, so I guess we might have been quite unlucky.
... Hostel, where the owner was very nice and gave me a 3 person en suite room all to myself for 20Y right next to the best restaurant in Songpan, Emma's Kitchen. I wish I could have gotten a picture of the Crazy Old Bat, but it all happened too fast.
