... worse - after a 12 hour overnight train you are woken to trhe delightful sounds and they go on and on, men,women and children - it dosnt matter. It almost becomes a way of life...........SO................ If in China - NEVER WALK AROUND IN BARE FEET!!!

... One of the best hostels I stayed at in my year travelling. Captains, Shanghai - Didn't stay there but it looked very good and spitting distance from the Bund. Xi'an? - Godknows! I stayed at the Jim Beam place in the old LP. Got a rave review ...

The spitting in China is quite impressive! Especially the noise before... I remember being in Chengdu 2 years ago, and at some point there were so many people and I had to dodge their spits. ahh yes the spitting! the noise is great
