... Base Camp to Shigatse we stopped and had lunch at someones home. They were so welcoming and offered us some great food. The day I left they finished the rail link from Lhasa to Golmud. When I return in a few years I imagine it'll be very different.

For those intererested, the train to Lhasa from Golmud in China opens very soon (there is also a connection with Beijing). Apparently its 48 hours and tickets are as low as $46 US. I imagine delays will lenthen the trip though. This is a very ...
