... in advance? I know I can get to Puerto Montt by bus. And sometimes from Puerto Montt to Chaiten by boat. I know I can go from Santiago to Chillan by train. But I can't find reliable information on travel to Chillan. Can anyone help? Thanks.....

1) You can go from Santiago to Chillan by train from Santiago's Central Station. There are several trains per day. Get a first class seat. It is a 4.5 hours train ride. 2) Go to www.efe.cl for schedule and price info.
