A weird town with some dodgy areas. I didn't get to see much of the surroundings because it rained a lot every day.

... cultural venues. Rio for the traditional stereotype (good/bad) of Brazilian life. Go to the North to find relatively unexplored areas of the country (rio branco is a good example). There is too much to summarize, but if you have an area of focus, it helps.
