I understand I'm speaking as a Melbournite here, but is Bondi beach really that amazing? Definitely thumbs up to the others - I'll add rock climbing in the Grampians And checking out Melbourne's live music scene:

... easy and direct. Once there, I did some "outback" camping which was fantastic - I just bought a cheap stove and a single pot from a local store. I also spent a great day rock climbing - there are great guides for hire in the area. Have fun!
