... city (happens to be argentinas oldest city at 453 years), with market stalls galore and folklores bands playing everynight..... santiago del estero is at the heart of a lot of the folklores music tradition and the bands they have playing are fantastic.... ...
I spent one day in Termas de Rio Hondo, relaxing in the termal hot springs. I was camping right on the river and the campsite had it's own thermal pools, so it was good. It is funny, The town is on a river but the river is called Rio Dulce not Rio Hondo.

... Salta? Salta is lovely! Have you got your Lonely Planet bible? It's not in it anyway, but the Hostal Quara on Santiago del estero 137 is fab (I got 'stuck' there for about a week!) You can take a bus from there straight to BA, but ...
