Sorata, Bolivia

We went with the 6 of us to the gruta de San Pedro after a nice breakfast in the market. The gruta is a cave with a river or a small lake which serpent through the cave. It s nice 1 hour walk.Then when we came back, we booked a ticket for the bus ride to La Paz, but when we came back at the right time the lady sold our tickets, we ask for another one latter on but the one that she told us at 6h15 did not exist...The issue is that 3 of the 6 were working quite early in La Paz the day after...They told us that there was another bus the day after at 4AM.Finally, Marcelio found a bus at 9PM to come back in LP and we all took our luggage the quickest as possible. After we learned that there was no bus the Monday as everything was closed...We finally get in LP at 1AM

Coroico, Bolivia

After a very short night due to the late arrival from Sorata, I found a ticket at the last minute to go to Rurrenabaque. On more time, I took the road of Coroico longing the road of the death. But after Coroico, the road changed for a dirt road and for 17 hours I was in a creepy bus on a bumpy road with a fat man trying to sleep on my shoulder, which make me consider to take a plane to return to LP in few days

La Paz, Bolivia

I took one micro with Babi, one more time it's really nice to be with someone who know very well the city. She bring us in a street where to take the good micro for the good price. Finally we get our ticket and when the micro was full we left for a 3 hours trip in direction of Titicaca Lake (the valley where there is Sorata is just below the level of the Titicaca Lake and also few km)When we arrived, we were waiting for the other to come in the town and as the weather was not so good we did a photo cession (mainly door as you will see on the pictures)In the evening, we found the others and we went to seat near the fire that was burning in the garden of the hotel with Manu Chao in the background.

I went to the post office as I promise to Berthy and Anna to send in each of their country (France and Poland) a parcel. La Paz, Bolivia

After a nice journey in Isla del Sol, I came back to La Paz using the bus and the ferry before to arrive to the gargantuan La Paz.In the bus to return, I seat near a Bolivian family with a small pussy cat who was just going to any body from the bus jumping from seat to seat. At the end, as I had a pullover in wool, the cat finish his trip with me all the remaining time of the trip.At one moment, a lady enter with a very young dog in a bag, and started to be the eternal fight between cat and dog. When we arrive, I discover that 2 seats in front of me, there was also a chicken...

Isla del Sol, Bolivia

This morning, I decided to wake up early and it was not to difficult as my bed was in front of the sunrise and pink color overflowed my room. I left my hotel at 7AM before any tourist and during almost all the day, I was alone to visit the island.I started by the normal road stone paved which cross the island to go from the south (where was my hotel: 1,5 euro/night) to the north where I would like to find a village Inca and the door of the sun.On the way, I crossed many old construction in ruins that I found as beautiful as Inca ruins the history less. One more time, when I arrived to the Inca village, I was the only tourist and it was great to be free to go wherever you want without 15 tourists around you. I tried to find the door of the sun but unsuccessfully. Whatever, as I was trying to find it, I went in a lot of part of the island that I m sure that the other tourist did not go.I did a biscuit break on the top of pink cliff and I went in direction of another small village, there the appeal of crepe in a restaurant with an incredible view was too strong and the small break shift for a 3 hours breaks.Quite nice to see the difference between the life before and after the tourist. The village was working as any small Bolivian village and at 11AM arrived the boats loaded of tourists going all in the same direction at the same time. Around 40 tourists going in direction of the Inca village, OK I guess them have found the door or sun but any privilege has a price.I pushed the crepe with the lunch and with a full stomach, I continue the exploration of the island.I took another way than the tourist but after a while I wanted to discover the top of the hill of the island, so I cut where there was no way and I climbed all the hills that I found on my way, giving another time a view that the other tourists did not see. I did a kind of yo-yo between the level of the see 3900 and the top of the hills 4200.At the end of the day I was dead but happy.I met a french and 2 Spanish and we played card till 9PM !!! very late!!!

Isla del Sol, Bolivia

In the morning, I took a boat to go to Isla del Sol: an island which is the origine of the legend of the sun for the Inca. The legend said that the sun originally went out from this island from the door of the sun. This first day I tried to find some Inca sites and then as I could not find them and that even the locals could not explain where it was, I Finlay came to another Inca site that I was sure to find.After a walk on a crete I found the site where I was the only tourist and then I came back in the evening to eat trout with a sunset on the lake on the background.
