As you read this we are on our way to Miami International Airport to give the car back and board our jumbo jet.We have done just over 15,000 miles (multiply by 1.6 to get Kms) which is quite a lorry driver average in just over 2 months.The trip is over...no more blogging, looking for hotels, eating fast food, etc, etc, etc. Looking forward to see family and friends again and knowing exactly where you will sleep that night, and a few nights in a row...See you all soon!

Long walk in the beach this morning and a good reading session under the pier.We then decided to pack everything after lunch to make sure we have sufficient space for everything. We were shocked with the amount of things we have picked up during the USA part of our trip (especially all those expensive gifts for friends and family :-)We will be returning with double the amount of bags than 11 months ago:- 2 big rucksacks- 1 new large luggage bag- 1 tent bag- 2 backpacks as hand luggageWe have given away to the cleaning staff all the extra stuff (sleeping bags, cooler, hammer) which we didn't or couldnt take back...its early Xmas!

We decided to spend the last two days here, and it is wonderful!! The reality is that we did a bit of an error in the map reading (must be the tiredness) and crossed 100 miles to the West side of Florida and to Naples thinking that was the closest entry to the Everglades National Park.The fact is we could have stayed next to Miami where there is another entrance (the one used by most tourists). In any case, we are very happy about the error as Naples is a wonderful town, clean, orderly and with wonderfully clean beaches. You can see its expensive to live around here.We were also lucky with the voucher we had for the Lemon Inn Motel. They have cute and large rooms with a small kitchen, pool and garden (and free unlimited internet...reason why you are reading this update!!). So we have decided to stay the last two nights here and avoid having to change rooms, find a hotel, etc. A bit of relaxation a the end of the trip is always good :-)We even saw dolphins this afternoon!!!

Kennedy Space Center was awsome!!!Its a fantastic little place for kids...and we beat them all getting there early again and doing all the stuff before they could :-)Apart from all the rockets, etc, we had a good time listening to the presentation by Al Warden (which we now know was an astronaut in the Apollo missions...), we got on a space flight simulator (fun!) and toured all the Space Centre even inspecting the space ship that will be taking off next 14th of November to take some burgers to the international space station.And it aint that expensive to get in....$30 per person in comparison to the $49 per person of the Sea World experience.The kids are happy now....the kids been us!

This was a very exciting and wonderful day at Sea World!!! We arrived early to avoid all the crowds and ride all the best attractions (the wet roller coaster is just to good to do only once so managed twice before the bus tours arrived).We saw all the animal shows, visited all the pavilions, etc, etc, etc....nothing better than the photographs to remind us what a great day it was. Yes...you said it right...we are like kids!

After a good nights rest we continued our path East with an obligatory stop at Mobile (Alabama) which we had some positive feedback about. The feedback was correct, it has a slight appearance of a small New Orleans but without all the tourists, tramps and groups of riotous drunks.We had also been recommended to have a good ol' southern style breakfast at a place called "Spot of Tea". What a great place, great food, service and price. In summary, Mobile is a thousand times better than New Orleans (although probably not worth traveling to specifically unless it is the Mardi Gras time).The rest of the day we continued East along the Route 98 and back into Florida...we are close to closing the full circle around USA. Past Pensacola (probably derives from Peñascola in Spain) we stopped at a beach resort which we had a voucher for called "Sandpiper Resort"...and what an excellent surprise it turned out to be.The place is right on the beach, with wonderful white sands, and has several heated pools (both indoor and outdoor), mini golf and all the rest. Given the price ($65 per night) we decided to have a little rest before pushing on, and enjoy some of the last sun rays we will be receiving in a few months!
