Corfu, Greece

Hi everyone!!

So we had a spare moment in the Greek tour to let you in on some of our adventures here in Greece. We flew from Munich, Germany to Crete, Greece. Spent the night and then caught the ferry over to Santorini island. This was our favorite relaxing spot! Black sand beaches, scuba diving, and a solid nightlife. We stayed with a wonderful woman who was renting out her rooms in a villa just 10 minutes walking from the capital city of Thira.

We met 3 other people on the ferry over. Two portugese girls and an Englander. So we all stayed together since we got along. Us guys rented scooters and just tore up the island going to see the world famous sunset at Oia and also tearing around to the red beach and highest points.

So after that we cruised over to Ios, another island. This was so full of Italians that it seemed like little Italy. Their vacation happens in August so they all come over to Greece because it is cheaper than vacationing in Italy!!

Like the rumors had it, the club scene in Ios was amazing. The clubs are one of a kind. Beach bars blasting music until 7am and people just dancing in the sand! We met some other USA people and also some French people and we all just stayed on the beach on floaties and soaking up the sun.

So after 3 days in Ios, I think, we took off to Mykonos. They say it is an expensive island, but when you are camping and make your own parties there, I'd say it was quite the opposite. We stayed there for a few days, relaxing and going out at night like the other islands. It's amazing that these southern islands don't really have any vegetation on them. It's like going to Mexico!! Jenky white buildings of stone and no green. So we got out of there to go to Athens.

We met Tim, from San Diego before we left Mykonos and since he had done Athens and wanted people to travel with, he floated on with us. We spent a few hours in Athens, which was really what everyone says is all you need to see what needs to be seen. I could have spent a lot more time exploring, but for time purposes we caught the bus to Corfu island AND... THE PINK PALACE!!

Corfu is the island that you imagine Greece to be. Very cultural and traditional but in comparison to elsewhere the party also does NOT stop. We ended up spending 5 days here and we're waiting for the midnight ferry to Bari, Italy.

The Pink Palace offered lots of activities. Day 1 we went on the booze cruise. There was cliff jumping from 50ft, swimming into a bat cave, the pink palace private beach and music and partying! Then at night we slept from about 7pm to midnight since we hadn't slept on the 8 hour busride to Corfu. Rallied at midnight to the PP Palladium (the nightclub). This place is all pink with white trim. Now everyone thinks the PP is colored after the female genitalia, but it's actually colored for Aphrodite.

Day 2 Garrett went on the Quad safari for panorama views of the island, going 60Kmh on offroad trails, and beach time.
I went on the kayak safari. This was great. A little exercise including cliff jumping again, traditional wine tasting, and a lot of mythological history about the island. Both took about 6hours and we came back to go to dinner together with some Canadians and Aussies we shared a building with. Afterwards, again to the PP Palladium for an all night bash of dancing our pants off and good times.

Day 3 we got to go on the booze cruise again, but for free. So we helped out Captain George, driving the boat and working the bar. All in all the staff all said it was the most ridiculous Booze Cruise they had had in 3 weeks! We were glad to help. Then nightime palladium action again.

Day 4 was relaxing on the beach and walking into the town. Not much action but still all of us were now running off of about a total of 10 hours of sleep... Needless to say the next week is going to be lowkey.

Day 5 is waiting for the ferry and sleeping!!! Glorious glorious sleep.

So that's just a quick update. Enjoy the photos!! Ok, so I can't upload photos here... We'll work on it!!
Los Angeles, California, United States

Flying home we again forgot to upgrade our seats, but it's ok. The movies were good and there were no crying babies like the way over. Still, Tyler took 2 sleeping pills and was oddly wired. Garrett tried to sleep in the four seat middle, but the center armrests wouldn't go up, so angling around them was awkward. All in all, not too bad, but not great.

It's good to be home. Right after dropping our bags at home, we went out to In N Out Burger since Garrett really wanted that.

The next night, to Tyler's request was a delicious New York Steak dinner.

We are now on the search for jobs. It's good to be home and the experiences we had we will always remember.

Thanks for following this trip. We look forward to sharing the next one with you all.
Barcelona, Spain

Back in Barcelona, we met up with Sam Milder, Brent's friend since AYSO soccer. We went to a bar that night and then back to his place to crash.

The next day we went to the Best Kebab place ever. It was curried chicken kebab, then sauteed with onions, then made into the kebab!!! DELICIOUS. It's on Juaquin Cosa Street in the Reval neighborhood. Then we went to the beach for all day relaxing.,

At night we went to a bar showing the rematch of France vs Italy. Since it was anti-climactic the first half, we left and went to get traditional tapas and beers. Then we decided to do our own bar crawl... That left Tyler feeling great the next morning, so we decided to stay another night with Sam.

We watched movies all day, then went out for dinner. Later we crashed and the next morning took our train to Paris where we spent one night until our flight back to Los Angeles!
Ibiza, Spain

Ibiza is great. We arrived early in the morning and went to our hotel. There apparently are no hostels on the island, and camping was further away. The place ended up being an Aparthotel and it was a one bedroom apartment with a kitchenette. So we bought food and cooked ourselves. We slept most of the first day. Then, Tyler got tired before going out so crashed while Garrett went to club Pacha. He returned home at 8am and slept all day.

That night after dinner, we went to the old town port. There are blocks where every place is a different bar. Tons of people. It was fun to just walk around and see them all. We called it a night after that since our ferry was early in the morning.

So the morning of the 7th, we took the ferry back to Barcelona.
Barcelona, Spain

We arrived late on September 1st in Barcelona and got to our hostel. It was located right on Las Ramblas. We had a small balcony overlooking the main street. Perfect location for 2 nights. That night we went out to a club called Catwalk. Great place, good music, and lots of fun. At about 5am, the transvestites/drag queens invaded the club so we decided it was time to go home and sleep.

The 2nd we met with Tori and we were going to go out, but Garrett decided to fall asleep at about 10pm. So we went meandering around the city for awhile.

The 3rd, we met up with Tori's family and went to Park Guell by Antonio Gaudi. It was full of interesting architecture but flowed very nicely. For lunch we took an hour to find a small hole in the wall place called Juicy Jones. It must be said that it is a must visit in Barcelone. It is a small tapas vegan restaurant. I recommend the Strawberry Mary Smoothie and a large variety of tapas followed by the Thali. Later we met Tori and her brother and went out to a club (Fellini) on Las Ramblas. They were playing rock all night and we all rocked out with them. Home at about 4am.

The 4th we went to La Boqueria to walk around and then just relaxed all day until our ferry at 9pm to Ibiza. A 7 or 9 hour ferry ride was pretty boring but we slept most of the way over.
The views were/are spectacular and the weather was perfect. We spent time with them and they took us to lunch in old Antibes to a place they liked. Calamari soup and prawn salad appetizers, swordfish and grilled sardine entrees and creme brulee for dessert!!

After, they drove us around cap d'Antibes and Juan les Pins. Just beautiful there. Antibes is where all the rich people park their 200 foot yachts since Nice and Cannes don't have harbors big/deep enough for them. So there are some impressive sights around!

The next morning we had an 8:45 train to Barcelona. We had stayed 2 nights in Antibes.
