Frogpool, England, United Kingdom

More hurdles to cross, yet again the van has been broken into!! Thankfully, the only thing I have been lucky about is that nothing has been taken!!! So van fixed again, I am back on the road!!! Have now left the coastal path and am now heading centally towards Truro. Have met up with the sister and husband of the lady I met at Bideford. I have had a lovely meal. We have been chatting so much and going over alot of my photos and videos of this trip, the evening has just gone, so this is just a quick blog. I seen a signpost today that said that I am only 45 miles from Land's End, amazing!!! So not long to go, these last couple of months have just flown by!!! Well I am now going to go downstairs for my dessert!!!
Par, England, United Kingdom

I cannot believe I have reached the south seas! The coastal path is full of little treasures! Like little grottos and secluded coves which look absolutely idealic on a warm sunny day, such as yesterday. I also enjoyed a lovely evening and morning as I was camping at Talland Bay, in the sunshine, just southwest of Looe. The sort of location that was perfect, except for being on my own, I missed Ben, Padi and Paris! The very next day, a lost border collie, boy about a year old, came across my path. He quite happily followed me. He was very obedient and well trained, I'm sure he was missed by someone. He stayed with me Wednesday night, and I set about locating his owners the next day. Thankfully the story ends well (although I would have loved to have kept him!) as I found the very relieved owners, who were holidaying in the area. Just shows you, even the most obedient dogs can stray, and how important it is to make sure they are wearing their collar and tags with phone numbers on, I could have returned him to his owners the night before. As I've said, I am on my last 100 miles. I should reach Lands End by Sunday 19th October. Radio Wiltshire will speak to me on that day, so listen out. Also the Weekly News is covering the story, will be on the newsagent shelves the day before. But before then I have to continue walking! Friday I shall continue the coastal path from Par to Lower Porthpean, then head inland through Shepherds Hill Wood and then lanes to Sticker. Saturday I shall walk lanes from Sticker to Ladock. Sunday from Ladock I take more lanes to Trispen, and then south through St Clement Woods leading to Idless. Monday there is more road walking through Truro and then lanes to Frogpool, where I am looking forward to meeting Bernadette Warren, the sister of someone I met earlier on this walk! Will tell you more on my next blog!!
Well I am so eager I thought I would just update you and let you know how I was progressing!! While I was staying with friends Selina and Rob and their lovely Springer Spaniels Ollie, Rufus and Titchy I got the rest of my maps out, I am down to my last 6 (from the 68 I began with!!) to work out how long it would take me to reach Lands End. If all goes to plan!! should finish on Sun 17th October. Wow, I can't believe it!!! Well I must press on, I stayed with friends Shell and Paula last night, and had cuddles from Paula's Lab Maverick and mad Ty the Dobermann. I have been looked after so well this last week, also staying with friends Selina and Rob and their Springer Spaniels Ollie, Rufus and Titchy. I also had help and a lift back to my van from Victoria and met her lovely greyhounds Holly and Az. Anyway, I must press on now, has it stopped raining yet......!!!
Postbridge, England, United Kingdom

Unfortunately things did not go too well yesterday!!! I parked up and went on my walk for the day to Postbridge and was met by my friend Elaine who was going to pick me up and take me back to the van which was parked at a carpark at Drewsteignton. To my horror when I got back I could see that my drivers side window had been smashed!! Nothing was taken so I presume it was broken by accident, there was a man strimming the grass in the carpark in the morning!! So Tuesday was taken up with getting a window and fixing it, thankfully I have met some wonderful people on this walk, and it was with thanx to Rob and Selina for putting me back on the road. I was able to enjoy a walk with Elaine in Ivybridge, instead of any part of my route. Now with all ok again, and so quickly!!, I shall be back on the walk tomorrow, following the Two Moors Way to Dartmeet. Thursday I shall head down to Burrator Reservoir. Fri will include walking the disused canal as far as Plym Bridge.
Williton, England, United Kingdom

The weather has been kind to me this week, something to be grateful for! I rejoined the walk at West Pennard, where I had finished last week. I have been walking some beautiful countryside, covering the Polden Hills and Quantock Hills. Very peaceful at times. I was joined yesterday by my good friend Ali, her daughter Jordan and their 2 yr old Jack Russell Rosie. Apart from the muddy start it was a nice walk following the old drove road along the ridge of the Quantock Hills. Today I almost made it to Winsford. Tomorrow I hope to make it to West Anstey, joining the Two Moors Way at Tarr Steps. Thursday I continue with the T.M.W going through Easter New Moor, Knowstone heading for Creacombe. Friday the T.M.W takes me through Witheridge, Washford Pyne and on to Morchard Bishop where I shall meet up with Michelle and Richard Poole. Thankyou to everyone for your kind words and support
Glastonbury, England, United Kingdom

I have to tell you some sad news, my lovely Ben has not been well this week and unfortunately it culminated in him having a fit on Saturday night. I had to make the awful decision that nobody wants to make, but atleast he is at peace now. Although there is a very big hole in my heart I have some great photos and videos from these last few months that bring a smile to my face. He could always smell water, where he would love to paddle and bark at me to throw stones in, bad habit I know, but it made him happy!! I am so grateful that Padi has been able to support me on this walk and bring Ben along. It will be very hard now, but I will continue the walk and finish it for Ben. Walking will be best for me anyway, but I might be quiet for a while!!!
