Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Made it to Vancouver B.C. today, (Saturday)  It has been cold and damp for a couple of days well actually we have been cold for several days. Vancouver was different than I expected very crowded and old.  By old I mean the buildings were not shabby but older and it wasn't the cleanest place I have ever been but it is a big city with so many people of different nationalities. The beaches were pretty crowded although it was not the kind of beaches that I we are use to. Love those Florida beaches.  We only stayed the day here just wasn't that interesting to us.  After waiting in line for two hours to get through customs we went out a different way and it only took ten minutes.Till next timeBill and EvaLife is Good

Today was a traveling day getting closer to Yellowstone.  Wyoming is a beautiful state with the landscape changing almost at every turn.  We made a stop at Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis Wyoming.  We went to a mineral hot springs and soaked in the hot mineral waters it was wonderful.  We started to stay there for the night but instead headed a little further down the road to River-ton Wyoming and are staying at the Days Inn. The prices are about double are more here for this type of motel.  It is a nice enough place but I guess I have to get use to the fact the further west we go the higher the prices.  I spent two hours trying to find us a place for tomorrow nothing was available till Monday in Jackson hole where we planned to stay for a couple of days.  After searching on line and calling I finally found a Super 8 for two nights. It is a mile from Jackson hole and only 50 from Yellowstone and less to the Grand Tetons so I hope we are located in a good place.  Until next time.Bill and EvaLife is Good

OREGON COAST Tuesday September 2nd 2008.  The beauty of the Pacific coast is breath taking.  Every curve you round every hill you go up the picture you see is different.  To see these massive rocks rising up out of the ocean is really hard to describe so I will let the pictures do it for me,The light houses we found not to be as tall as the ones on the Atlantic coast .  We were not able to get close to some of them because they were not open for visitors so I had to take the pictures from afar.If you look close you can see all the sea lions and seals sunbathing on the rocks if I had been a Little braver I could have got a closer shot.  They are hugh.We did  find a herd of Elk grazing in a meadow looked like about 20 or so of them.Tomorrow we will be in California headed for the Redwoods.Till next timeBill and EvaLife is good

Monday Labor day and we took the day off  from traveling and stayed a couple of days in Lincoln Oregon. This morning we went over to the ocean and the very first thing we see are seals basking in the sun.  This was very exciting . The little black dots you see in the water are the seals swimming around hunting there breakfast.  The beaches here are very different from Florida beaches. First dogs are allowed to roam freely and enjoy the beach as much as the people which was OK with  me.  You are allowed to have bonfire's on the beach they actually want you to there is so much debris that washes up it is the only way to clean it up. Bill tried to move one of the big logs but it was wedged in the sand to deep. LOL.  We drove down the road about five miles to a place where you could view the whales.  As soon as we got out we could see them blowing then diving it was amazing. I was not able to get pictures they were pretty far out and I was to busy just watching them.  Thought about going out on one of the boats to get a closer look as you can see I wasn;t about to get on one of those boats every time they hit a wave it looked like they would disappear.  Came back to our room had a salad for lunch and then went to the hot tub sauna and pool had it all to myself was nice. Bill has found a little bit of home he is relaxing in the recliner and watching Tennessee play football.  Tomorrow we head on down the coast to see what else we can discover.  For me I have enjoyed the coast very much but I have always loved the ocean.Till next timeBill and EvaLife is Good

It is late Sunday night ( 1:30 Tn. time) and I am trying to catch this blog up.  We drove down the coast from Lacy Washington to Lincoln Oregon today. The scenery changes with every mile we go.  I saw the Pacific ocean for the first time today it is beautiful and cold .  The beaches here are also different from what I am use to but they are still beautiful maybe even more so than Florida beaches.  I guess it is having the Mountain ranges and the ocean all together makes it really spectacular. We have stopped at a very nice Best Western in Lincoln Oregon we are thinking maybe of staying a couple of days and do some whale watching find some Lighthouse and maybe see some seals and just relax. Until next timeBill and EvaLife is good

Thursday we traveled to Glacier National Park. We didn't go across the Road to the Sun it had been closed so we just went to other area of the park. It was a nice park but it was cold.  After leaving the park we continued through Montana going into the Panhandle of Idaho and then into Washington State. We got to Spokane around 7:30 but 10:30 Cleveland time.  The days in we stayed at was a -10 .  That is the last Days Inn I will stay at. Today Friday we drove through Washington State seeing some amazing country.  Apple Orchards ,wheat fields many acres of farm land.  We are staying at Mt. Vernon Washington tonight at a pretty nice Best Western.  Tomorrow we head to Vancouver BC.Until next timeBill & EvaLife is god

Hi AllToday we traveled through some amazing country.  Montana is truly beautiful but COLD.  As you can see by the snow in late August the warm weather doesn't last long. Today was spent driving toward our next destination Glacier National Park  Right now part of the Road to the Sun is closed due to SNOW so we don't know how much of it we can see. We are staying at Kalispell Montana tonight at the Outlaw Inn.  It is ok but have had better wasn't much to choose from here did have a hot tub so that was nice.Till next timeBill and EvaLife is good

Hello everyone,Today we traveled a different Yellowstone route which proved to be much more interesting.  The scenery was more to what I thought Yellowstone should look like. There was Buffalo grazing in the meadows, Buffalo standing around the picnic areas, and Buffalo enjoying the hot springs there was buffalo everywhere. This was a area called Hayden Valley.  We saw some amazing waterfalls, lakes and mountain ranges.  Mammoth springs was very interesting with how the hot springs formed all the rock formations.By far I believe Montana is proving to be the best state so far this is the West to me.  Beautiful ranches horses cattle and Elk all grazing in the pastures.  It is also pretty chilly here below 70 for the highs for a few days. Jackson, Wyoming, United States

Sunday we headed to Jackson Hole Wyoming.  We have seen some beautiful scenery like The Grand Tetons which are absolutely amazing.  On the tops and sides of the Tetons are glaciers.  Have seen some wild life but not as much as I was expecting  We have seen  a Antelope and her baby grazing in the meadow, a buffalo on the roadside in Yellowstone, a lone coyote walking up the road, a Elk and he was a big one, a moose lying near the water.  At Old Faithful we watched her erupt which was pretty neat. Yellowstone has some beautiful scenery but it also has lots of damage from all the fires in recent years.This is Sunday and Mondays adventures.  It has been a couple of long days with lots of things to see and do. Custer, South Dakota, United States

This is our second night at Cluster S.D.  We spent the day going through Custer State Park.  Only saw a couple of buffalo was very disappointed .  We did see antelopes, burros yes the donkey kind they would walk right up to your vehicle and beg for food.  Saw elk but to far away to get good picture. Also saw a couple of deer. We then went toward the badlands but didn't go a long way it was mostly just big canyons.  I can see why the outlaws went here no one would ever find you.  Stopped on the roadside and bought a necklace from Indian couple.  I knew it wasn't made in Japan I saw her making it. (but the beads were most likely from some other country :) )After that we headed up the Mt. to Mt. Rushmore.  It was pretty interesting.  Driving back down the Mt. we went through a rock tunnel.  There were some pretty scary curves up there.  For our lunch/dinner we went to Cattleman's steak . We had buffalo steak it was not bad allot leaner and sweeter tasting than beef.Till next timeBill and EvaLife is Good
