Brisbane, Australia

Stopped at a number of lovely camp spots on our way up the east coast. A lovely rest area in Woy Woy, where we met the friendly local pelicans, Pa enjoyed fish and chips and Sooz shopped till she dropped. Avoca beach, where we lovingly tinkered with and tended to Baggie, enjoying our first sights of the amazing Australian birdlife, Lorikeets, Kukaburas, and wild turkeys, which weren't as popular, having witnessed a local resident chasing one with a shovel! Onto Nelson Bay, where we were treated by Pa to a Whale watch expedition, amazing! Saw loads of humpbacks frolicking in the waterLoved Byron Bay and Dave scored in Nimbin so all was well. Also went out to Morton Island from Brisane where we stayed in a really plush resort and feed dolphins that come right up to the beach, it was really amazing couldn't beleive how big they are when you're up close to them! We also went in a 4x4 Bus over the sand dunes and did a bit of dune surfing which was great fun, though sand got everywhere!?!Had a lovely journey up to Cairns had to rush a little bit to make it up there in time but managed to stop off at Airlie Beach and head out to the southern end of the great barrier reef to spend the day at Reefworld. Saw some amazing fish including the Mauri faced wrasse. The Barrier reef certainly is one of the wonders of the world, but unfortunatly due to it being Australia's winter it was pretty choppy and rather difficult conditions for snorkling.

Cairns, Australia

Arrived in Cairns in time for Ted to have a bit of a relax before having to take his camper back and sadly leave us to fly back to the U.K. Cairns is lovely with some fantastic Resturants. Spent a couple of weeks in Cairns Having to sort out visa's for Vietnam and India plus having to sadly put Baggie up for sale. Once we had everything sorted we headed north to Port Douglas

Stayed in Kings cross and went out for a curry on our first night. Spent too much time looking into hiring campervans for all of us for stupid amounts of money, we eventually decided to go to Kings cross car market where we fell in love with a painted up hippie wagon called Baggie. After some deliberation and having her checked out at a local garage that was recomended, we decided to buy her and got her at the bargin price of $2000 about 800 quid! Bargain! Pa was a little embarrassed of us with his posh hired camper, but lets just say we rode around town most of the time in our beloved camper, receiving peace signs and smiles from all the locals! Pa's camper came from a company called Camperman and we spent a lot of time doing the batman theme but ending in CAMPERMAN! Stayed in Sydney a few days seeing the sites. We visited the opera House and went over the harbour bridge. Also went to Sydney aquarium which was wonderful and we saw some amazing fish. Went to Bondi Beach and cleaned the camper whilst watching all the surfers gliding down massive barrel waves. Had a massive job cleaning the camper and making it so we felt comfortable to live in it but it was a very satisfying job as she looked beautiful when we had finished.

Melbourne, Australia

Arrived in Melbourne to rain and got Bus service into city centre. Stayed in a Nice hotel for the first night but they were fully booked the following day so we had to move. Due to clever but grossly inaccurate advertising, we ended up in an old office block that had been partially converted into a hotel. It was a right dive, to emphasise the point there was a leak in the bathroom on the second floor that flooded the landing, Teds room was infested with ants and the woman in the room next to ours had a cupboard unit fall off the wall and break her nose while she slept, to top it all off the place stunk of raw meat, not nice! But from there it was a good base to get out and about around the city, for shopping, having hair done and entertainment. Went on a good tour to Phillip island, stroked our first Koala, tickled the tummy of a chubby wombat and fed hungry Kangaroos. Then went for a walk down the beach watching the surfers, saw the nobbies and went to the penguin parade. Watching the little blighters waddling up the beach at dusk was great, they're very cute! Went to see Harry potter at the Imax and fed chocolate balls to possums that came and fed out of your hand. They just live in the trees like Squirrls in the U.K but much more cute. Had enough of cold Melbourne so got a flight up to warmer Sydney.

Queenstown, New Zealand

Stayed in an apartment at a mad campground in middle of Town that was built by an engineer. Everything was made out of something bizare. There where boilers and pipes cisterns and taps all put to weird use around the place. Where Ted stayed it had ladders that had been made into fences and we had a stork made out of a Moped. Loved Queenstown went up on the skyline gondalor and took in the Amazing views then on the next day parascended down from the top which was amazing. Went for a day trip sking at Cardrona took a beginners lesson as none of us had been before we all took to it like ducks to water with only a couple of spills the entire time and we all wished we could come back the following day. Flew back to christchurch

Franz Josef, New Zealand

Stayed at another Top ten in a beautiful apartment that looked out towards the glacier, really nice apart from the annoyance of a heater that only stayed on for 15 minutes and a walk of about a mile and a half into town. Went on a helicopter tour of the Glacier which was like visiting another world, a world of Ice! Crawled through ice tunnels and treked through gullies in our crampons, then had the most thrilling and stomach churning ride in a helicopter as our drunk pilot tried to scare Suzy! An amazing experience marred only by Ted's loss of his new trendy rip curl jacket, which we realised must have been lost in one of the ice caves we went through, never to be seen again, oh well, he said it was worth it! Watched the All Blacks match against SA in Speights that evening, warming in front of the fire and eating a well deserved feast before our trek back along the dark, winding road for a VERY early bus journey the next day, which we overslept for! Had a Long journey on the bus down to Queenstown.

Christchurch, New Zealand

Only spent one night in Christchurch as a stop over before getting the Transalpine express. Did our laundry didn't see much as it was pissing with rain so got a take away stayed in and watched a movie. Had to get up early to caught the train but it was well worth it as the train journey was through the most stunning scenery. It was so cold at Arthurs Pass we were well glad of our lovely warm jumpers. The train ends at Greymouth so we got a bus down from there to Franz Joseph Glacier.

Kaikoura, New Zealand

Stayed in an apartment at a top 10 holiday park. Nice room Warm, comfy Bed, Internet, it did the job. Went out to see the Whales and had a great time even though the sea was well rough. The boat we went out on was amazing and handled the large waves brilliantly it was like being on a fairground ride. Saw lots of Sperm whales which came really close to the boat and saw a lot of Whales tales lifting out of the water and slowly disapearing but unfortunately no breaching. A really nice experience and when we got back we had a lovely meal in town.

Flew back to christchurch for a nights stay before our flight out of New zealand to Australia. Went and saw Christchurch city centre before heading to the airport did abit of shopping and had the best baked potatoe with cheese and beans since leaving blighty. Gonna miss New Zealand.
