Gurgaon, India

'Getto' in Venetian dialect signifies the casting of molten bronze in a foundry. In 1516, the Senate of the Venetian Republic decreed that the Jewish community should be confined within the restricted bounds of a single island, which had formerly housed such foundries. Here are my impressions about the ghetto in Venice

http://travelphotolog.blogspot.com

Joshimath, Uttarakhand, India

"Auli has the best slopes in the world facilitating snow skiing during winters beginning January to the end of March." My friend and I were looking forward to seeing the International skiing festival organized in February every year. 'Snowfall predicted for 24 Feb 2009, temperatures expected to fall below -12 degrees' my brother looked up some weather forecast on the Internet and warned me before I boarded the train.

Read More at Travelphotolog

Gorson Bugyal 3.5km

Many ventured on this trek as Gorson meadow had a patch of hard snow where one could get basic lessons in skiing.
As we near Gorson point, one is within reach of the snow clad peaks.
Gurgaon, India

Venice is famous for its colourful glasswork. In the 13th century, all glassworks in Venice were transferred to Murano, an island not far from the City. The blazing furnaces, open fires and vats of molten glass were perceived as a threat to the City and hence the transfer.
Here is a photostory of how I experienced Murano glass.

http://travelphotolog.wildbytes.in/#6.1
Gurgaon, India

Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary
We travelled by road, driving from Delhi to Rishikesh on the first day. After halting at Rudraprayag,we proceeded the next day to Chopta via Mandal and Gopeshwar. Once in Chopta, you already soak in the mountains of KedarNath Wildlife Sanctuary.

The forests of Kedarnath Sanctuary comprise a Musk Deer Sanctuary and also reserve forests where villages exist, supporting reasonable good forests where one can hear the call of the koklass pheasant and monals early in the morning. Sighting monals is not that easy as these birds are extremely shy and vary of human presence.

Read the full report http://www.indianwildlifeclub.com/ezine/detail.asp?at_id=417&a=1&m=12&y=2005
