Hagerstown, Maryland, United States

Well, we hit the road about an hour later than planned. Not too bad at all really. We got settled in the hotel, changed clothes and headed to dinner.

Dinner was at LJ and the Kat Lounge in Hagerstown. Don't let the name fool you! It's a fabulous place with a GREAT wine list! And it Saturday was the last night of Restaurant week in Hagerstown. 4 courses for $30.08. John and I shared which was a good thing! We had Crab WonTons to start, LJ's house salad with blue cheese crumbles, Maryland Rockfish with a black bean sauce and Szechuan Green Beans; and a Key Lime Cake for dessert. Jason had the Flat Iron Steak with Zuchini foam. I'm not a big fan of flat iron steak...but this was the best that I've ever had!! John and I also had a really nice Martin Zinfandel. Definitely a winery we'll visit on our next Sonoma/Napa trip.
Stanley, Idaho, United States

Stanley Idaho is about a 3 hour drive from Boise on a 2-lane road through the mountains. It is a very picturesque drive but there wasn't really an opportunity to take pictures. Since Auntie Evelyne attendance this week was a surprise for Sara and Bill, we had to make ourselves scarce. So to kill time, Grandma and I made the hour drive over to Ketchum.

Later that evening, Sara and Bill were surprised by not only our being in Stanley but also Sara's elementary school chum Kay Williams. It was quite the surprise!!!
Boise, Idaho, United States

We arrived safely in Boise. Had another great wheelchair attendant who even helped us out to the rental car with our luggage. I have to admit that given how difficult air travel is, the attendants that helped us were GREAT and made it much easier.

So we rested a little then went to dinner. It had already been a long day so it was dinner then bed. I picked a place called the RedFeater Lounge. All of their ingredients are local (within 100 miles)! We both had the Cedar Plank Grilled Idaho Trout with a beurre blanc sauce and Idaho Wild Rice. We followed that by sharing a cheese course of Idaho cheeses with honey comb and currants:
Danish Pearl - Cow's milk, soft and creamy
Rolling Stone Chevre - Saanen goat's milk, tangy, herb rolled
Truffle Tremor - Goat's milk
For dessert with had Strawberry Dacqueri - strawberry ice cream, lime rum, and a fruit couli

I had an Iron Hills Pinot Noir and Grandma had a Rose. It was an excellent meal!!!
Chicago, Illinois, United States

When you are traveling through Chicago!!! We were delayed leaving Dayton this morning because the arriving flight was delayed because of O'Hare traffic control. And, of course, we were also delayed leaving Dayton. Fortunately, we had 3 hours to kill anyway. The lines at the United service centers indicated that we were the lucky ones.

Grandma has not flown since 1993...15 years. So she was in for an interesting experience. The wheelchair attendant in Dayton was GREAT and did a fabulous job of getting her through security and to the gate. We had another good experience with the attendant here in Chicago. It was a good thing because we had to change terminals moving from Concourse C to Concourse F. That's quite a hike!

We enjoyed a fine meal at McDonalds which was right near our gate. That's it from O'Hare at this point. Hopefully, our flight will leave fairly close to ontime. (Ha! What am I thinking...it's O'Hare!)
I sat at the sushi bar and met wonderul people. We shared sushi and sake. After dinner, I headed to the Night Market and finished with a walk along the harbor. Hong Kong is such a fascinating mix of East and West.
