So to try to avoid the long lines, we were up early and travelled by subway to Battery park. The line up for the Ferry was as quick as it could be, considering all the security hoops that neeed to be jumped through.
We walked around the base of Lady Liberty. Although crown tickets are available now.. they are in high demand, plan a couple months in advance if you can.

We spent the entire afternoon shopping...

Then grabbed the train back to Newark/Penn Station for a well deserved rest in the hotel.
I had to drag Julie out of Tiffany's!

We had won tickets to the Letterman show; so we had to be there a a certain time to get the tickets, then had an hour to grab a bite to eat and a beer, then back in line again to get in.

Howey Mandel was on the show...it was interesting to see the work that goes into the show.

We ended the night walking many miles around NYC to find a nice place to eat. We did see pictures of the plans to redo the area into a memorial park, it will look amazing!
Later in the day we made our way to the Empire State building and the did some shopping at Century 21 near the WTC.
We ended the day with a sunset sail on the Clipper City. We were on our way.

First stop was to pick up our New York Passes, a great discount card that we purchased in advance and recommended to anyone planning to visit NY. We decided to do all the inside type exhibits while the weather was crappy. Luckily it was a warm rainy day... not chilly at all.

We checked out Madam Tussaud's Wax Museum and the Museum of Sex. We also walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, viewed the Bodies Exhibit and had some beers on Pier 17. Ending the day by going to the Top of the Rock, for a night time, albeit partially foggy, view of NYC.

Mount Finalyson / Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada

So our plans were to get up early and do some hiking. We were up at 9:30 or so.. but Diustin had other plans.. he slothed out of bed at 11:30 and decided to shower and get ready... I think we were out the door by 1:00 and enroute to Mount Finlayson (upon Alan's recommendation)

The climb was 1.5 km and started easy; however the steep climbs up the rocks can pretty quick... During the ascent on the rocks Dustin said it "looked pretty sketchy, and I almost slipped" Then without telling anyone decided to climb up a different path up the mountain.

We stopped and started calling his name with no answer. Where did he go? (this guy is afraid of heights)... so Matt climbed back down looking for him and asking all the the people if they have seen him. About 15 minutes later we started climbing again without Dustin. It was a long climb everytime we thought we were at the top.. it kept going!

We finally caught up with Dustin who asked "what took you guys?" He had thought we was closer to the top earlier in the climb.

After taking in the scenery from 414m we descended and headed to Nanaimo....for yes a Nanaimo bar..!!!!

Then back to Sydney for the evening....
